Specialists at NYU Langone Psychiatry Associates care for adults who are coping with mental health disorders and emotional challenges. Our caring and empathetic team of licensed psychiatrists and psychologists offers the most up-to-date and scientifically proven treatments for many conditions, including:
We are also leaders in specialized care for adults with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) through our ADHD Program; for people coping with anorexia and bulimia through our Adult Eating Disorders Program; and in the treatment of various forms of depression through our Mood Disorders Consultation Service.
In addition, we help address the mental health needs of women coping with infertility, pregnancy loss, and postpartum depression through our Reproductive Psychiatry Program. We also offer a Human Sexuality Program for treatment of sexual disorders in men, women, and couples, and a Trauma Program for people who have experienced abuse, assault, or the loss of a loved one.
For patients who live in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, we offer online doctor visits in all of our specialties through the NYU Langone Health app. The app is a secure and confidential platform that allows our psychiatrists and psychologists to provide personalized care to patients who want to work with their care team remotely or at flexible times.
Online doctor visits can be beneficial for people on maternity or medical leave, or those who have moved out of the New York metropolitan area and are looking to continue their care. Through the app, we also offer multiparty video consultations if a family member or caregiver would like to join in, family sessions, and group therapy sessions.
When you call to make your appointment at NYU Langone Psychiatry Associates, our knowledgeable staff talks with you about the care you are seeking, and then pairs you with the specialist who is best able to address your mental health needs.
We develop an individualized treatment plan that is focused on you, with your input. If your condition would benefit from prescribed medication as well as psychotherapy, we ensure you are seen by both a psychiatrist and a psychologist.
We also consider the whole person, not just your symptoms. For example, other medical conditions, medications, and physiological changes can impact the effectiveness of a treatment, and we take these factors into account as we determine your best treatment path. If you are coping with addiction as well as a mental health condition, we use therapies that are targeted at treating both illnesses. We also offer one-on-one therapy and individual, couples, and group therapy. If you need therapies only available in the hospital setting, we can refer you to our inpatient psychiatric unit at NYU Langone’s Tisch Hospital.
Our goal goes beyond helping you feel better. We want you to live your best life—at home, at work, at school, or anywhere that life takes you.
