About Me
As a psychiatrist at NYU Langone, I specialize in treating patients with schizophrenia and other serious mental illnesses. As the first member of my family to attend medical school, I was drawn to medicine by a deep desire to help individuals while studying complex diseases to improve treatment options. I found the field of psychiatry provided the opportunity to deeply understand my patients and help them navigate the complexities of mental health.
Building trust and rapport with my patients is central to my approach. I prioritize understanding each patient’s unique goals and ensuring that they and their families are well-informed about treatment options. This focus on the patient’s goals is crucial when addressing serious mental health challenges.
At NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn, I am part of a robust treatment system that combines hospital-based and innovative outpatient care. This integrated approach allows me to support my patients throughout their recovery journey, from urgent interventions to longer-term psychotherapy. My research focuses on understanding the role of neurotransmitters in psychiatric illnesses, particularly schizophrenia. I believe that gaining insight into the brain’s underlying differences can lead to novel treatment methods that significantly benefit my patients.
In recognition of our commitment to quality care, I was honored to be part of the team that received the Psychiatric Services Silver Award at the 2024 American Psychiatric Association Annual Meeting for our Enhanced Treatment and Recovery Program. This initiative reflects my dedication to improving the lives of patients with serious mental illness at the Family Health Center at NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn.
I am passionate about making a positive impact in psychiatry and am committed to providing exceptional, personalized care.
