About Me
As a devoted psychiatrist at NYU Langone, my approach to care is centered on delivering sensitive treatments that support and restore mental wellbeing. I find immense satisfaction in alleviating mental distress, enabling my patients to progress with their lives and dreams.
My expertise lies in psychopharmacologic and psychotherapy treatments for mood and anxiety disorders. I have a particular interest in understanding how medical illnesses and treatments may impact these conditions. Psychopharmacology involves the study of how medications affect mood, sensation, thinking, and behavior. Psychotherapy, on the other hand, is a therapeutic treatment used to help people with a broad variety of mental illnesses and emotional difficulties. With years of experience in the field, my proficiency is further amplified by my residency training, where I honed my skills in psychotherapy, advanced pharmacologic treatments, and medical education.
Throughout my career, I have collaborated closely with patients and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care. I also provide consultations for diagnostic re-evaluations and alternative treatment suggestions, offering a new outlook for patients referred by other psychiatrists and therapists.
My decision to pursue a career in physician was shaped by my family’s medical history and my passion for science and caregiving. I was captivated by the field’s unique combination of pharmacology, biological treatments, and psychotherapies, where spending time and understanding each patient as an individual is key to their mental health recovery. Since joining NYU Langone in 2010, I have had the honor of working with an exceptional community of scientists, clinicians, and staff, delivering exceptional care to patients and their families.
