Learn About Our Prenatal Education OfferingsOur gynecologists, nurse practitioners, and midwives are experts in caring for people at all stages of life. We provide comprehensive care, including breast cancer screening, cervical cancer screening, menopause care, family planning services, and screening for sexually transmitted infections.
We also treat all conditions that affect the reproductive system, including endometriosis, fibroids, heavy and irregular periods, pelvic pain, polycystic ovary syndrome, and urinary tract infection. Our doctors provide surgical treatment when needed, and many procedures can be done in our on-site operating room.
During the menopause transition, we provide support, counseling and treatment of symptoms through our Center for Midlife Health and Menopause. Our providers are Certified Menopause Practitioners by the North American Menopause Society, and they create customized treatment plans based on each woman’s individual symptoms and treatment needs.
Through our Center for Vulvar Health, Dr. Rebecca G. Podolsky provides advanced treatment for skin conditions that affect the vulva, or the outer genitalia. This includes chronic itching or irritation, vulvar pain, and skin conditions such as lichen sclerosus, lichen simplex chronicus, and lichen planus.
Online scheduling is not available for vulvar health appointments. To make an appointment, please call 646-754-2700.
We are committed to providing the best care from your first prenatal visit to after your baby is born. Our doctors, midwives, and nurse practitioners work with you to determine your goals for pregnancy, labor and delivery, pain control, and feeding plans for your baby after delivery.
During childbirth, you are cared for by one of our board-certified obstetrician–gynecologists, who all have extensive experience in labor and delivery, including vaginal delivery, cesarean delivery, and vaginal birth after cesarean, also known as VBAC. We offer “gentle cesarean,” a family-centered approach that allows bonding between the mother and the baby during and after birth.
We also have a team of midwives who care for low-risk patients. They provide a holistic approach to pregnancy care and childbirth, focusing on natural techniques to reduce the need for medical intervention. If a cesarean delivery is necessary, they partner with our obstetrician-gynecologists to assist with surgery.
Our maternal–fetal care specialists provide high-risk pregnancy support, managing conditions that can affect pregnancy. For instance, they help with preterm labor, pregnancy with twins or triplets, preeclampsia, and gestational diabetes.
Labor and delivery take place at NYU Langone’s Tisch Hospital, which is the first academic medical center nationwide to be accredited by The Joint Commission for employing the best practices for perinatal patient care. Our patient safety officers, who are highly experienced doctors, provide around-the-clock monitoring of all people in labor to ensure the safest deliveries and best outcomes.
Recognition
NYU Langone’s Tisch Hospital, NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn, and NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island are designated Baby-Friendly Hospitals, recognizing our dedication to breastfeeding support and mother–baby bonding.
Pregnancy can be a time of emotional upheaval for some people, including those who are trying to conceive, have experienced a pregnancy loss, or are recovering from childbirth. Some people experience mental and emotional challenges for the first time, or need help managing existing conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, obsessive–compulsive disorder, trauma, or grief. For these patients, our licensed clinical social workers and obstetricians can start you on the path to recovery with therapy and medication as needed.
In addition to seeing patients at NYU Langone Obstetrics and Gynecology Associates, our doctors also see them at NYU Langone Ambulatory Care West Side and NYU Langone at Trinity. Experts at NYU Langone’s Ultrasound Unit—OB/GYN provide fetal monitoring and testing.
