I chose a career in maternal-fetal medicine to care for patients during some of the most significant and vulnerable times in their lives. I was particularly drawn to fetal medicine and surgery because of the opportunity to use advanced ultrasound imaging to diagnose complex conditions before birth and, in many cases, improve outcomes for both mother and baby through specialized treatments and interventions.

One of the defining moments in my career was performing my first fetoscopic laser surgery for twin-twin transfusion syndrome, a life-threatening condition that can occur in identical twins sharing a placenta. Witnessing how fetal intervention could change the course of a pregnancy—and later meeting the two healthy babies after birth—was incredibly meaningful and reinforced my passion for this field.

I care for patients referred for advanced prenatal ultrasound, fetal diagnosis, and the management of complex fetal conditions, including fetal anomalies, complications in twin pregnancies, fetal growth restriction, placental disorders, and other high-risk concerns. My expertise includes advanced prenatal imaging, first-trimester anatomy assessments, and prenatal diagnostic procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling (CVS). I also specialize in fetal therapy, including intrauterine transfusion, fetal shunt placement, selective reduction, and fetoscopic laser surgery for twin-twin transfusion syndrome.

As director of obstetric ultrasound and assistant director of the Advanced Fetal Care Center at NYU Langone, I work within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to advanced fetal imaging, prenatal diagnosis, fetal therapy, and comprehensive care for complex pregnancies. My goal is to provide patients and families with expert, coordinated care from diagnosis through treatment and delivery.

Families navigating complex pregnancies need both expertise and compassionate support. Our team is committed to delivering highly specialized care while ensuring families feel informed, supported, and cared for every step of the way. We prioritize clear communication and close coordination across specialties to create an individualized care plan that meets both the medical needs of the pregnancy and the family’s goals.

What I value most about patient care is building meaningful relationships with families and guiding them through some of the most challenging and important moments of their lives. The most rewarding aspect of my work is partnering with families from diagnosis to delivery and beyond, as part of a truly collaborative team.
