About Me
As a dermatologist at NYU Langone Dermatologic Associates, I am dedicated to providing empathetic and thorough care, focusing on detecting and treating patients with skin cancers.
I specialize in melanoma, a potentially lethal form of skin cancer that can often be identified and treated at early stages. I am particularly interested in helping patients at increased risk for melanoma, including those with a personal or family history of the disease, numerous moles, or risk factors such as light skin complexion, hair color, and extensive sun exposure. My colleagues and I in the Pigmented Lesion Section employ advanced imaging technologies to detect and remove early-stage skin cancers, minimizing unnecessary removal of benign skin growths.
Throughout my career, I have focused on advancing medical knowledge and improving patient care through research. Early in my career, I contributed to the addition of the “E” for Evolving to the well-known ABCDE’s of melanoma, which are used globally to help patients recognize melanoma. This innovation underscores my commitment to enhancing diagnostic accuracy and patient education. My work is characterized by a proactive approach to healthcare, encouraging patients to monitor their skin and seek care for new, changing, or unusual moles.
My journey into medicine began with a passion for science and a desire to help people through specialized knowledge. Pursuing combined MD and PhD training allowed me to conduct research that advances medical knowledge and patient care. As the first in my family to become a doctor, I am inspired by the opportunity to make a lasting, positive impact on the medical field. At NYU Langone, I collaborate with a dedicated team to provide comprehensive and coordinated care, ensuring the best possible outcomes for my patients.
