In-Room Services at Tisch Hospital
At NYU Langone’s Tisch Hospital, we strive to make your stay as comfortable as possible by offering the following services and amenities.
Meals are served daily in your room. Upon admission to Tisch Hospital, you are screened for your nutritional needs and, if necessary, a registered dietitian will develop a meal plan based on your individual needs.
When you first are admitted, you are served that day’s house selection. After that, you receive a menu each morning from which to choose your meals for the following day. Please make your selections for the following day by 7:00PM.
Kosher meals are available upon request at no extra charge. Guest trays are available at an additional charge.
If you have questions about your meals, ask your nurse to request a meeting with a dietitian. You may also call dietary services at 3-5178 from inside the hospital and 212-263-5178 from outside the hospital.
Telephone and Television
Telephone service is available for a daily fee. You may subscribe by calling extension 3-7403. Assistive telephone devices, teletypewriter (TTY), and telephones with amplified handsets and built-in ring indicator lights are available. Please keep in mind that insurance companies do not reimburse for telephone service.
If you choose not to subscribe to telephone services, you may use your personal cell phone in all areas of the hospital except near the neonatal and pediatric intensive care units.
Television service is available free of charge. Please call extension 3-1010 upon arrival to arrange for service. For safety reasons, patients are not allowed to bring their own televisions to the hospital.
Though personal electronic devices such as laptops, tablets, and portable DVD players are permitted, we recommend leaving them at home to guarantee their safety. Please be advised that NYU Langone is not responsible for the safety and security of these items during your stay.
Complimentary wireless internet access is available throughout Tisch Hospital. Follow the directions that appear when you initially try to connect to our network.
Newspaper delivery is available weekdays 7:00AM to 1:00PM and weekends 10:00AM to 1:30PM. If you would like to purchase a newspaper, please contact guest services at extension 3-2902.
Beauty and Barber Services
To have a beautician or barber come to your room, please contact guest services at extension 3-2092. Appointments must be scheduled 24 hours in advance. Cash payment can be made directly to the beautician or barber at the time of service. Insurance plans do not pay for these services and they cannot be added to your hospital bill.
For your convenience, complimentary personal shopping is provided by guest services. Cash payment for outside services or items purchased for you must be made at the time of delivery. Guest services staff is available weekdays from 7:00AM to 6:00PM and weekends from 10:00AM to 6:00PM and can be contacted at extension 3-2902.
