NYU Langone Health (“NYULH”) is exploring solutions for a Research Management System (RMS) to support the Perlmutter Cancer Center’s research reporting, compliance, and operational management needs.
The RMS will serve as a centralized platform to aggregate and manage data related to cancer center members, research programs, grants, publications, shared resources, and multidisciplinary disease groups. The system is expected to integrate with institutional systems (such as HR, grants management platforms, and bibliographic databases) to automate data ingestion, reduce manual data entry, and improve data accuracy. It will also support NCI Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) reporting requirements, including the generation of standardized data tables and other compliance reporting.
Key capabilities being evaluated include:
- centralized researcher and membership profile management
- tracking of research programs, grants, publications, and collaborations
- integration with enterprise systems and external research databases
- automated reporting and dashboards for leadership and regulatory reporting
- workflow support for data validation, approvals, and ongoing data governance
The goal of the RMS initiative is to create a governed, interoperable platform that improves visibility into research activity across the institution, supports compliance and reporting requirements, and enables data-driven strategic planning.
