Sunset Terrace Family Health Center at NYU Langone is home to two healthcare programs, one of which is focused on behavioral health, and the other on adult primary and specialty care. Both programs offer bilingual services and are respectful of the needs of the LGBTQ+ community.
Sunset Terrace Family Health Center is the hub of the Behavioral Health Program—Family Health Centers at NYU Langone. Our experts provide treatment and support for people experiencing mental health disorders. Care is provided by treatment teams made up of physicians, psychiatric nurse practitioners, social workers, psychologists, and mental health counselors.
Adults, adolescents, and children are treated for conditions including depression and schizophrenia, among others. Treatment methods used include medication management and individual, child, group, and family therapy.
The Sunset Terrace Family Health Center hosts a psychology externship training program for students enrolled in a clinical, counseling, or school psychology doctoral program. For more information, please call 718 437-5218.
Our adult medicine program provides primary healthcare as well as specialized care for people seeking treatment for infectious diseases. We provide HIV testing, treatment, and counseling and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). We also provide nutrition counseling.
In addition to access to primary care services, we can connect our patients at the Family Health Centers with doctors from more than 25 medical and surgical specialties.
We also offer primary medical care to people with substance use disorder. We prescribe buprenorphine, known as Suboxone®, and naltrexone, known as Revia® or Vivitrol®, to treat addiction in people who use heroin or opioid pain medications such as oxycodone. Naltrexone and other medications are also available for people who are trying to decrease their alcohol use.
