We understand that cancer can affect every area of your life, from your family and work to your mental and physical wellbeing. That’s why our supportive care team at NYU Langone’s Perlmutter Cancer Center provides services to improve your quality of life during cancer treatment.

Quality of Life As You Define It

Our supportive care services are available for patients currently diagnosed with cancer, at any stage of illness or treatment. We approach your needs based on what’s important to you. Our program can help reduce the physical and emotional burdens of the disease, whether you have been recently diagnosed or have lived with cancer for some time.

Supportive care can include determining the goals of your care; assessing and managing pain and other symptoms; and providing nutrition services, emotional counseling, integrative health, advance care planning, and mind–body services.

Our supportive care team works together with your clinical team to help you and your family during treatment. Your team may include a variety of experts such as oncologists, integrative health professionals, nurses, nurse practitioners, nutritionists, palliative care physicians, physical rehabilitation specialists, psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers.
