Perlmutter Cancer Center Survivorship Program

We know that the end of treatment does not signal the end of cancer’s impact on your life. The effects can linger, and they can be both physical and emotional. Our Cancer Survivorship Program at NYU Langone’s Perlmutter Cancer Center provides support and services designed to help you transition to life after treatment. Our program is led by Dr. Marleen Meyers and supported by nurse practitioners, oncology nurses, social workers, registered dietitians, and integrative health specialists.

Optimizing Physical and Emotional Health

Our team works with you to identify the most appropriate cancer survivorship resources and create a plan to optimize your physical and emotional health after cancer treatment.

Many of our survivorship services are free or covered by insurance.

A nurse practitioner can talk with you about any challenges you may encounter and ways you can enhance wellness. Our social workers can help with issues related to intimacy and family dynamics, as well as any financial challenges you face. If you are experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, fear, or any other complicated emotions after treatment, we can refer you to a therapist for counseling.

In addition to conventional remedies for the physical and emotional side effects of cancer treatment, our experts may recommend integrative health therapies, such as acupuncture and massage. If you have difficulty remembering things or processing information, we can connect you with a neuropsychologist who can help.
