Respiratory Problems in Neurologically Impaired Children

Specialists at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone treat neurologically impaired children who have respiratory problems that affect breathing. Certain neurological, neuromuscular, and genetic conditions can cause blockages in the airway and interfere with a child’s ability to inhale and exhale.

At our Pediatric Aerodigestive Center, part of Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital, a team of specialists collaborates to treat children with these conditions. Team members include pediatric pulmonologists; ear, nose, and throat specialists; surgeons; anesthesiologists; sleep specialists; and speech, swallowing, and feeding experts.
