Imaging Services Safety During the COVID-19 Pandemic
If you need an imaging appointment during the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to reassure you that we’re taking every possible measure to keep you safe during your visit. We have implemented several changes to prevent the spread of the virus while ensuring you receive the care you need.
Safety Measures at Our Locations
At all of our locations, the following safety measures are in place.
- Locations are operating with modified schedules to allow us to maximize social distancing.
- We are limiting the number of patients in any facility at a given time to lessen the possibility that patients will come into close contact with one another.
- We maintain separate waiting areas for patients with symptoms of illness. These rooms are isolated from other patients and regularly disinfected.
- Our machines are thoroughly cleaned between each patient visit.
- Our staff wear masks and other protective equipment.
Our experienced staff are trained to guide you through your exam in a safe environment, and we look forward to seeing you. If you have any questions about your appointment, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Scheduling Your Appointment
When you schedule your appointment, we will ask if you have experienced any symptoms of COVID-19, or if you have received a positive test for COVID-19. If the answer to any of these questions is yes, our staff may reschedule your appointment for a later date, or if it is urgent, make special arrangements for you to come in safely.
Prepare for Your Visit
We encourage you to take the following steps to allow a streamlined check-in experience and avoid time in the waiting room.
First, download the NYU Langone Health app on your mobile device. Use your MyChart account username and password to log in.
Please complete the required forms and questionnaires by tapping on “Appointments and Video Visits.” Select your radiology appointment and tap on “Prepare for Your Visit.” If your doctor provided you with a paper prescription, please upload it when prompted.
What to Expect When You Arrive
To minimize your time in our waiting rooms, we ask that you please fill out several important forms in advance of your visit by following the instructions above.
Please wear a mask or face covering as you travel to your appointment, in accordance with the current guidelines in New York state. You must also wear a mask during your visit. If you arrive without a mask, we provide you with one.
Please review our updated visitor policies before your appointment to help ensure a safe environment for our patients and visitors.
We will be screening everyone at our entrances to identify patients who may currently be ill or have had recent illness, so that we can respectfully isolate these patients from our other patients. This allows us to provide maximum protection for all of our patients and staff.
