Pediatric Specialty Care for Long Island

Our team of experts at NYU Langone Children’s Ambulatory Care Center—North Babylon offer world-class diagnosis and treatment for common and complex conditions. Our office features the latest in noninvasive diagnostic technology, including electroencephalography, or EEG. An EEG machine records electrical activity in your child’s brain and is used to diagnose epilepsy and other brain disorders.

Spirometry is used by our pediatric pulmonologists to diagnose asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and other conditions that affect breathing. Your child breathes into a mouthpiece connected to a spirometer, which attaches to a computer that measures how well your child’s lungs are functioning.

Our pediatric neurologists use computerized continuous performance tests, or CPT, to measure your child’s sustained attention, which is associated with impulsivity and selective attention and distractibility. CPT is used in combination with a thorough evaluation and observation of your child to diagnose attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD.
