About Me
As a licensed clinical social worker at NYU Langone Psychiatry Associates, I am dedicated to providing compassionate, patient–provider care. My approach is deeply collaborative, focusing on building upon each individual's internal strengths and resources while identifying additional pathways to support healing.
I understand mental health as an interplay of biological, psychological, and social factors, with attention to patients' material realities, unique personality structures, families of origin, culture, and life contexts. This holistic perspective allows me to offer personalized care that addresses both the inner world and the external factors influencing my patients' lives.
I specialize in helping individuals navigate a wide range of issues, including anxiety, trauma, depression, self-esteem, and identity development. Additionally, I support healthcare worker burnout and stress related to relationships, grief, or major life transitions.
With over a decade of experience, I have developed a deep understanding of complex trauma, political asylum, cross-cultural issues, immigration-related concerns, and adjustment to medical illnesses. My practice is largely informed by psychoanalytic theory, although I often incorporate additional modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness tools, allowing me to tailor treatment plans to meet each person's unique needs.
My professional background has prepared me to work with people with diverse life experiences, and I am particularly interested in concepts of grief that expand beyond traditional understanding to include ambiguous loss and disenfranchised grief. My commitment to proactive healthcare engagement ensures that I stay responsive to my patients' needs, fostering strong partnerships and a positive patient experience.
My journey into social work began with a deep interest in how people make sense of loss and trauma, particularly how past experiences and relationships influence current behaviors and emotions. After obtaining my master's degree in social work from New York University, I later pursued advanced, post-master's training in psychodynamic psychotherapy.
Inspired by my work with individuals who have experienced significant disruptions in their lives, I pursued a career that allows me to support others in their healing process. At NYU Langone, I collaborate with a dedicated team, ensuring comprehensive and coordinated care for my patients.
