Maressa C. Criscito, MD

I was born and raised in New Jersey, where my aspiration to become a physician was inspired early on by my father’s medical practice. During medical school, I had the profound experience of caring for a solid organ transplant recipient, which sparked a keen interest in dermatology and skin cancer.

To build on my clinical experiences, I pursued a yearlong research fellowship at NYU Langone, focusing on skin cancer. My journey at NYU Langone continued with a dermatology residency and fellowship training in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology, equipping me to provide specialized care for patients with skin cancer.

I am excited to serve NYU Langone patients as a board-certified Mohs micrographic and reconstructive surgeon. In my role as a dermatologic surgeon, I specialize in Mohs surgery, reconstructive surgery and have a particular clinical and research interest in caring for immunosuppressed patients. Additionally, I possess expertise in laser and cosmetic procedures.

My research is dedicated to rare skin cancers, high-risk cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma, and skin cancers in immunosuppressed patients. Through my clinical and research endeavors, I strive to adopt a comprehensive approach to deliver the highest quality care and treatment for my patients.
