Adam Karp, MD

As a primary care geriatrician at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to managing the complex health needs of older adults, ensuring they receive comprehensive and compassionate care. Growing up in a household where helping others was a core value, I was deeply influenced by my parents' commitment to volunteer work. This upbringing instilled in me the importance of giving back and caring for those in need, which naturally led me to a career in medicine.

In my practice, I treat a wide range of health issues, with a particular focus on the unique challenges faced by older adults. My greatest strength is communication; I believe that building rapport with my patients starts with simply talking to them. Whether it's informing them if I'm running late or being available to answer questions about lab results, I strive to ensure my patients feel heard and valued. This emphasis on communication is a core value shared by my entire team, creating an environment where patients can trust that we are fully committed to their care.

Throughout my career, I have been honored to be recognized in NY Magazine’s Best Doctors issue for many years, which I believe reflects the quality of care we provide. My journey into medicine was fueled by a passion for sciences and math, coupled with a desire to help others. This path was further inspired by my parents' volunteer work and the values they instilled in me.
