Additionally, I have extensive experience in evaluating and treating bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. As both a physician and psychiatrist, I ensure that underlying medical conditions are not contributing to psychiatric symptoms or complicating treatment. I focus on evaluating and coordinating care with other members of the healthcare team, including psychotherapists, primary care doctors, and specialists. Where clinically appropriate, I may recommend medication to address active concerns. At the same time, I often incorporate talk therapy techniques, drawn from psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), into our medication management visits, using a holistic approach to treatment that addresses both the mind and body.
