Andrew B. Rosenkrantz, MD

As an abdominal radiologist at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to using advanced imaging technologies to improve patient outcomes. My passion for radiology stems from the field’s continual evolution and integration of cutting-edge technologies, which enable us to provide precise and effective care. In my role as section head of the abdominal imaging division, I am committed to fostering a proactive healthcare environment where patient engagement and research are paramount.

I specialize in interpreting a range of imaging modalities, including computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and radiography, with a particular clinical interest in prostate MRI. My work has been instrumental in introducing multiparametric prostate MRI and MRI-guided biopsy into clinical practice at NYU Langone. I also served as editor of a comprehensive textbook on prostate MRI.

Throughout my career, I have focused on enhancing the quality of radiology practice through policy engagement and research spanning a wide range of topics. My efforts have been recognized by national specialty organizations, where I have served in various leadership roles, including as chair of the American College of Radiology's Commission on Body Imaging. I received the Most Influential Radiology Researcher award from AuntMinnie in 2018 and, since 2020, have served as editor in chief of the American Journal of Roentgenology.

My journey into medicine was inspired by the potential of medical imaging to transform patient care. During medical school, I was captivated by the technological advancements in radiology and their impact on diagnostics and treatment. This fascination led me to pursue a career in radiology, where I could be at the forefront of integrating innovative imaging techniques into clinical practice. With over 15 years of experience at NYU Langone, I am proud to be part of a team dedicated to providing coordinated and comprehensive care to our patients.
