Lindsey C. Michel, MD

I am passionate about advancing women's health and creating meaningful improvements in patients’ lives. My interest in gynecology began during medical school, where I developed a deep appreciation for the transformative impact that specialized care and minimally invasive surgeries can have on recovery and well-being. I completed fellowship training in minimally invasive surgery and have since focused on providing highly specialized care for complex gynecological conditions.

I treat a wide range of conditions, including uterine fibroids, adenomyosis, abnormal uterine bleeding, endometriosis, pelvic pain, and ovarian cysts. I specialize in minimally invasive approaches, including laparoscopic and robotic surgery, which allow for smaller incisions, faster recovery, and less postoperative pain. As part of NYU Langone’s Center for Fibroid Care, I collaborate with multidisciplinary specialists to ensure my patients receive comprehensive evaluations and tailored treatment plans.

In addition to patient care, I serve as associate program director for the complex benign gynecology fellowship, reflecting my commitment to advancing the field through education and mentorship. I have been recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor and hold accreditation from the Surgical Review Corporation as a master surgeon—acknowledgments of my dedication to excellence in high-quality and safe surgical care.

My treatment philosophy is rooted in patient education, shared decision-making, and individualized care. I believe in empowering my patients through open communication and ensuring they understand all available treatment options. Whether restoring normal menstrual cycles, alleviating chronic pain, or helping patients achieve pregnancy, I am dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care that improves quality of life and supports each individual’s goals.
