Rusk Rehabilitation Brooklyn at Sunset Park Family Health Center provides care for children.

Rehabilitation Services for Children

We provide outpatient rehabilitation care to children who are learning to use a prosthetic or orthotic device. This includes young people learning to use artificial limbs. We work with children who require bracing to treat foot deformities and gait disturbances such as drop foot. Therapy for generalized muscle weakness is also provided. Our seating and wheelchair clinic evaluates children to ensure they are using the right device for their individual needs.

Rehabilitation Therapy for Children

We provide speech-language pathology services for children with autism, developmental delays, articulation or phonological disorders, and receptive-expressive language disorders. We also offer a therapeutic program for premature infants who need help with feeding and swallowing.

Our team provides physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech–language pathology for children with neurological conditions, including cerebral palsy and spina bifida. We also provide rehabilitation to help children recover from orthopedic injuries, such as bone fracture.

Our Locations

Rusk Rehabilitation Brooklyn at Sunset Park Family Health Center is located at Sunset Park Family Health Center at NYU Langone.

Rehabilitation care for children takes place at the Sunset Park Family Health Center at 5610 Second Avenue.

Appointments are available during the following times:

• Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
