Cancer Navigator Program

For many people, navigating cancer care can be complex and challenging. Our team in the Cancer Navigator Program, part of Perlmutter Cancer Center at NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island, can help address the medical, financial, and emotional issues facing people who have cancer. We offer personal guidance and support to patients, families, and caregivers during and after diagnosis and treatment.

Our cancer navigators are trained nurses who specialize in the care of people who have received a cancer diagnosis, helping them coordinate tests, procedures, doctor visits, and treatments. We can reduce or eliminate barriers to care and provide access to screening and testing, which can help with early detection and prevention of cancer. We also assist with referrals to oncology social workers and support groups, and help patients with accessing financial, legal, and community support services.

Our team of navigators also provides emotional support and education about cancer diagnosis and treatment options.
