I chose a career in medicine inspired by two formative experiences: the care I received as a competitive athlete, where physicians restored my ability to return to sports through careful examination and treatment, and my mother’s illness, during which a physician provided compassionate, clear guidance during a critical moment. These experiences shaped my commitment to patient-centered care and ultimately led me to specialize in gynecologic oncology—a field that combines breadth, continuity, and the ability to build long-term relationships with patients while addressing diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and recurrence. I am dedicated to providing advanced oncologic care close to home for families on Long Island, expanding access to clinical trials, and driving research to offer patients the best possible outcomes.

I am passionate about precision medicine and highlight an early career experience that continues to inform my approach to care. I treated a young woman with metastatic gestational choriocarcinoma who failed to respond to standard therapies. Collaborating with colleagues internationally, I pursued a personalized immunotherapeutic approach based on the molecular profile of the patient’s tumor. The patient achieved a complete response and has remained cancer-free since. This case reinforced my commitment to expanding access to innovative, targeted therapies and integrating clinical trials into my practice.

I care for adult patients, typically ages 18 and older, with gynecologic cancers, including ovarian, endometrial, cervical, vulvar, vaginal cancers, uterine sarcomas, and gestational trophoblastic neoplasia. I also evaluate patients with suspected malignancies requiring further diagnostic workup. My practice spans the full continuum of care—from diagnosis through treatment using advanced surgical techniques, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies, to survivorship planning, hereditary cancer risk management, and access to clinical trials.

I specialize in minimally invasive and open surgical techniques tailored to each patient’s needs, including robotic-assisted and laparoscopic hysterectomies and complex oncologic resections when indicated. I integrate systemic therapies, ensuring patients benefit from emerging advancements in cancer care, and provide access to clinical trials to explore promising experimental treatments.

As part of the gynecologic oncology program at NYU Langone and the Perlmutter Cancer Center, I serve as vice chair of research in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and director of gynecologic oncology clinical trials at NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island. In these roles, I work to bring innovative therapies and research opportunities directly to patients, enabling them to receive world-class cancer care in their own community.

I understand the challenges patients face when navigating a cancer diagnosis and emphasizes clear communication and thoughtful guidance that ensures patients feel supported in every step of their treatment journey.

My treatment philosophy centers on evidence-based, personalized care. I collaborate closely with patients to create treatment plans that reflect not only the biology of their cancer but also their unique goals, values, and preferences. I advocate for clinical trials when appropriate, knowing they often represent the forefront of treatment innovation and offer options beyond standard therapies.

The most rewarding aspect of patient care is building long-term relationships and being a steady, reassuring presence during one of the most challenging times in a patient’s life. I find fulfillment in seeing patients move forward—whether completing treatment, returning to daily life, or simply feeling more informed and supported. These moments reinforce my commitment to gynecologic oncology and the impact of compassionate, expert care.
