Hai Jung H. Rhim, MD, MHPE, MPH

I am a pediatric hospitalist at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital and NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, which means I provide care for children who are admitted to either. I treat all kinds of patients, from those with acute illnesses to those experiencing worsening of chronic medical problems. But most important, I work with a team of health professionals who guide and support children and their families through the hospitalization and help them transition back to their medical homes outside the hospital. We practice, promote, and teach care that is centered on families, and we individualize our plans with the input of our patients and their caregivers.

I am also the division director for general pediatrics at NYU Grossman School of Medicine’s Department of Pediatrics. That provides me with the privilege of working with the vibrant and committed group of general pediatricians who care for the pediatric patients at Bellevue Hospital. In addition to providing clinical care, they supervise and teach residents and medical students, conduct significant research, and advocate for children in New York City and beyond.

I have always had a strong interest in medical education and the training of future doctors, and I have designed, implemented and evaluated various educational programs in health professions education. I also enjoy mentoring faculty, trainees, and students to help them achieve their goals.
