Andrew H. Smith, MD, PhD

I am a physician-scientist dedicated to transforming the landscape of psychiatry through the advancement of personalized neural circuit modulation. A graduate of Northwestern University with a B.A. awarded with honors, I pursued my medical and doctoral studies at Yale University, where I earned both an M.D. and Ph.D. My academic and clinical journey continued at Mount Sinai Hospital, where I completed a residency and fellowship, paving the way for my current role at New York University Grossman School of Medicine.

My contributions to the field have been celebrated through accolades from esteemed organizations, including the American Psychiatric Association, the International College of Neuropsychopharmacology, the National Institutes of Health, and the Society for Biological Psychiatry.

In my clinical practice, I specialize in psychopharmacology and psychotherapy, integrating state-of-the-art treatments such as transcranial magnetic stimulation, vagus nerve stimulation, and deep brain stimulation. I am particularly focused on mood, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorders, striving to offer my patients more precise and effective therapeutic options.
