Carey Li, MD

As an emergency physician at NYU Langone, I am passionate about delivering vital care to every patient that comes through our doors. The fast pace and immediacy of the Emergency Department at NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn drew me to this field during medical school. The stream of patients, the mingling of staff and consultants—everything is a graceful, calculated, and complex dance. Having been treated as a patient in the emergency department myself, I have unique insight into the fears and anxiety patients experience on one of the scariest days of their lives.

In the emergency department, we see patients from all backgrounds with a wide range of conditions, including injuries, infections, heart attacks, strokes, and more. My extensive training and experience in emergency medicine enable me to provide high-quality, immediate care. I am committed to treating everyone with dignity and respect, regardless of who they are. Our department is like a family, and we strive to treat each patient as one of our own.

Throughout my career, I have focused on proactive healthcare engagement and fostering strong partnerships with my patients. I believe in the importance of patient research and value independent, third-party reviews to ensure a positive patient experience.
