Sherief H. Garrana, MD

As a clinical assistant professor of radiology at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to advancing patient care through innovative imaging techniques and a compassionate approach. My role allows me to combine my passion for radiology with my commitment to patient wellness, ensuring that each individual receives the highest standard of care.

I specialize in cardiothoracic imaging, focusing on lung cancer screening, imaging of aortic pathology, and post-surgical thoracic aorta assessments. My expertise also extends to improving the quality and utility of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for mediastinal and other thoracic pathology, as well as imaging interstitial lung disease. With a robust background in these areas, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to my practice, having completed my diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Missouri–Kansas City, followed by a fellowship in cardiothoracic imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School.

Throughout my career, I have been committed to proactive healthcare engagement, emphasizing the importance of early detection and continuous monitoring of chronic conditions. My work in lung cancer screening and thoracic imaging is driven by a desire to improve patient outcomes through early intervention and precise diagnosis. I believe in fostering strong partnerships with my patients, ensuring they are well-informed and actively involved in their healthcare journey.
