I became a family medicine physician because, quite simply, I love people. I try to live by a simple philosophy: leave people better than you found them. It’s a principle I bring to every patient interaction. Some of the best moments in medicine happen when something finally clicks. It is that Oprah-like moment, “I get it,” when confusion turns into understanding, and a patient feels empowered to take charge of their health.

My approach to patient care is grounded in evidence-based medicine, while my training as an osteopathic physician has taught me to consider and care for the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—and to recognize the role each may play in a patient’s health, values, and overall well-being. I care for adults aged 18 and older across a wide range of health needs, with a strong emphasis on prevention and helping patients stay up to date with recommended screenings, vaccinations, and routine health maintenance. I also treat acute illnesses and manage chronic medical conditions. One of the things I enjoy most about family medicine is its breadth and the opportunity to care for an entire person rather than simply treating a diagnosis.

Having faced my own health challenges, I understand that knowing what to do and applying it are two very different things. I’ve struggled with my weight since being a child and sometimes joke that I’ve been trying to crack the code ever since. I’m a physician now, so apparently more education was not the answer. Over the years, I’ve learned firsthand that lasting change is rarely easy or a straight line. That experience has made me a more empathetic physician and reminds me to meet patients where they are, without judgment, and help them find changes they can live with.

Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with family, traveling, cooking, roller skating, and stand-up comedy. I love discovering new places, experimenting in the kitchen, and finding reasons to laugh. I believe being healthy should help us enjoy our lives, not keep us from living them.
