About Me
Before pursuing a career in medicine, I earned a master’s degree in pharmacology. The knowledge I gained from this degree, combined with prior research experiences during college and summers, inspired me to become a doctor. My interest in cardiology was developed during medical school and clinical experiences.
I treat patients with various heart conditions, including hypertension, heart failure, valve disease, coronary disease, cardiomyopathy, and related medical conditions, such as diabetes. I use my imaging background to guide proper diagnosis and treatment. I engage my patients in their treatment by providing education about their particular condition in language they can understand. I also discuss their other conditions and how they affect their heart disease and its management.
I attempt to individualize patient therapies with my background in pharmacology and knowledge of medicine, combined with evidence-based treatments. I enjoy spending time with my patients so they feel comfortable with their treatment process, while also getting to know them as individuals. I participate in clinical research as an echocardiologist for multiple percutaneous valve implant studies.
My practice includes many physicians who are experts in many aspects of heart disease, which allows us to draw from each other’s strengths and work as a team to provide outstanding patient care.
