Elizabeth Mostel, MD

As an emergency medicine physician at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to my patients. The fast pace and day-to-day variability of the emergency department drew me to this specialty during my medical training. It’s immensely fulfilling to address the immediate needs of my patients and help them navigate the complexities of emergency care.

With extensive training and experience, I am adept at managing a wide range of acute conditions. My areas of focus within emergency medicine include women’s health, the adverse effects of medications, and geriatric care. My residency at Hofstra University’s Zucker School of Medicine exposed me to a high-volume, diverse patient population and taught me to be adaptable in challenging situations, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Throughout my career, I have been committed to proactive healthcare engagement and continuous learning. I regularly mentor medical residents, guiding them to develop their clinical skills while emphasizing the importance of compassionate patient care. I also pursued an elective in simulation and medical education, which enhanced my skills in bedside teaching and non-traditional educational methods.

My journey into medicine began at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where I discovered my passion for emergency medicine during my first rotation in the emergency department. The inspiration and relatability of the people I met along the way solidified my decision to pursue this career path.
