About Me
As a pediatric hospitalist at Hassenfeld Children's Hospital at NYU Langone, I oversee the care of children and their families throughout their hospital stay. My role allows me to work closely with a diverse team, including pediatric residents, medical students, nurses, social workers, and certified child life specialists to provide comprehensive and compassionate care during critical times.
My research, funded by the National Institutes of Health and other organizations, focuses on enhancing communication with patients and families, particularly those facing challenges such as limited health literacy, language barriers, or managing multiple chronic medical conditions. My primary areas of interest are improving family engagement and the understanding of care plans, patient safety, and the overall patient and family hospital experience. My work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and presented at national conferences.
Throughout my career, I have been passionate about training the next generation of pediatric medical professionals. I mentor pediatric residents, medical students, and researchers, providing career and research guidance. I co-direct the NYU Langone Department of Pediatrics research pathway for pediatric residents and the summer research fellowship for medical students. Additionally, I teach and direct programming on clinical research methodologies as part of the Clinical and Translational Science Institute at NYU Langone.
My journey into pediatrics was inspired by a desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families. Being part of the NYU Langone team and the Department of Pediatrics is a privilege. It is incredibly rewarding to see children recover from illness and families ready to transition home, as well as to teach and guide talented medical trainees while conducting impactful research.
