About Me
As a geriatrician at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care to older adults while mentoring the next generation of physicians in hospital and post-acute care settings.
My professional approach focuses on delivering value-based care tailored to the unique needs of each individual. Care is focused on geriatric trauma, placement in appropriate care settings, and preventing and treating multi-complexity geriatric syndromes including frailty, dementia, delirium, mobility, falls, swallowing, malnutrition, pressure injuries, and polypharmacy. By focusing on these areas, I aim to make a meaningful impact on the lives of older adults by improving their quality of life and helping them maintain independence and wellbeing.
As a provider of medical ethics consultations at NYU Langone, I deal with moral principles and values that guide patients and healthcare providers in care decisions and practices. I assist providers in navigating challenging ethical issues and applying ethical principles in clinical settings. I focus on preserving patients’ autonomy and promoting ethical healthcare practices. I deal with ethical issues related to patients’ and families’ ability to make decisions and provide consents in areas including advance directives, artificial feeding, futility of treatment, withholding or withdrawing life support, declination of care, and end of life.
Throughout my career, I have been actively involved in research and implementing quality improvement programs, specifically in post-acute care facilities. These initiatives are designed to enhance patient outcomes and uphold the highest standards of clinical excellence. My commitment to mentoring future physicians stems from the belief that educating and guiding the next generation is crucial for the continued advancement of geriatric care.
At NYU Langone, I am proud to be part of a team that values the best and safest care for our patients and the best training for physicians at one of the best and safest healthcare systems in the nation.
