Paul H. Krieger, MD

As an emergency medicine physician at NYU Langone, I provide compassionate and equitable care to all patients. Growing up as an athlete, I developed a fascination with how the body moves, heals, and operates. This curiosity, coupled with a desire to impact the quality of others’ lives, inspired me to pursue a medical career and become the first doctor in my family. Daily, I am reminded of the opportunity to make each patient’s day better through medical care, support during difficult moments, or simply easing anxieties.

Emergency medicine resonates with my belief in public health and equal care for all. As an emergency department physician, I am proud to serve as a safety net within our complex healthcare system. With extensive training and years of experience in academic medicine, I have focused on enhancing residency curriculum development and hospital-wide education, particularly in LGBTQ health.

My work has centered on developing educational programs for residents, aiming to improve the overall quality of care provided to all patient populations. My commitment to diversity ensures that all patients feel welcome, safe, and receive high-quality care, especially in the high-pressure environment of the emergency department.
