Sonali Bhalodkar, MD

As a pediatric emergency medicine physician at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to children in critical need. Growing up in a diverse immigrant community in Queens, I have always felt a calling to support and uplift those around me from all walks of life. My role allows me to be an initial access point for children in the healthcare system, which is both a profound responsibility and a privilege.

Specializing in pediatric emergency medicine, I focus on point-of-care ultrasound, a technique that enables me to deliver immediate and impactful care. My training includes a pediatrics residency at Albany Medical Center and a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Yale New Haven Children's Hospital. With years of experience, I am committed to treating vulnerable populations and ensuring that every child receives the best possible care.

Throughout my career, I have been driven by a passion for healthcare access and equity. I earned my master of public health degree at Columbia University, concentrating on health policy and management, which has furthered my dedication to delivering accessible care worldwide. My work includes teaching clinicians in the Dominican Republic vital point-of-care ultrasound techniques to help treat patients with limited medical resources. My research focuses on quality assurance and improvement, leveraging point-of-care ultrasound to promote equity and access.

My journey into medicine was inspired by my experiences growing up in New York City and my commitment to supporting both local residents and visitors. I am proud to be part of NYU Langone, where I collaborate with a dedicated team to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for my patients. My goal is to provide holistic, compassionate, and comprehensive care to every child I treat.
