Sean Schnarr, MD

As an emergency medicine physician at NYU Langone, I provide compassionate care in a fast-paced and high-stakes environment. My passion for emergency medicine stems from my background as a Division I athlete, where I thrived on thinking on my feet and executing under pressure. I find immense satisfaction in not only treating patients but also in bridging the gap between being a healer and a teacher, empowering patients to improve their own health, and offering reassurance when they need it most.

I specialize in emergency medicine, managing acute conditions, and providing immediate care. I am particularly committed to health education, ensuring that my patients understand their conditions and the steps they can take to achieve both short-term and long-term health goals.

I enjoy training residents in the art and science of medicine, fostering a new generation of physicians who are as committed to patient care as I am. My work in the emergency room allows me to address various health concerns, providing comprehensive and coordinated care, a hallmark of NYU Langone.

My journey into medicine began after spending time in West Africa, where I taught health and nutrition with a college teammate. This experience highlighted the importance of health education and gave me a profound sense of purpose. Inspired by this, I enrolled at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2014, determined to make a difference in the field of emergency medicine. Today, as part of the NYU Langone team, I am proud to offer my patients the highest standard of care, supported by a collaborative team.
