Josephine Zeng, OD

I was inspired to pursue a career in healthcare because of my community. As a first-generation American, I have witnessed how language barriers and cultural differences can create gaps in an already complex healthcare system. With this in mind, I strive to be the type of provider I would trust to care for my own family. As an optometrist in one of the most diverse cities in the world and at NYU Langone, I am not just a provider—I am also an advocate.

Throughout my career, I have received extensive clinical training in various settings, including the VA system, private practice, and academic hospitals. I manage a wide range of conditions, such as dry eye, refractive disorders, ocular trauma, and ocular infections. Additionally, I collaborate with specialists to co-manage complex conditions, including cataracts, neuro-ophthalmic disorders, macular degeneration, vascular retinopathies, and uveitis.

Beyond clinical practice, I have a passion for clinical research. My previous work includes studying refractive outcomes in infants with retinopathy of prematurity (ROP).

I believe patients deserve a dedicated team to support their eye health and preserve their vision. My goal is to build long-term relationships with patients by delivering exceptional care, practicing a holistic approach, and fostering health literacy.
