About Me
As a psychiatrist at NYU Langone, I am deeply committed to understanding the unique intricacies of human behavior and the mind. My passion lies in helping adult patients, those age 18, and older navigate their mental health challenges, hearing their stories, and assisting them in returning to what they love most. I believe in a friendly-yet-professional approach, ensuring that each patient receives the highest quality of care with the resources available.
I specialize in treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including mood disorders such as major depressive disorder and bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia spectrum and other psychotic disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder. I am dedicated to stabilizing acute psychiatric symptoms to help patients function effectively outside the hospital. Additionally, I have a particular interest in supporting patients who are preparing for or recovering from weight loss surgeries.
Throughout my career, I have focused on proactive healthcare engagement and shared decision-making. I believe in educating my patients about the benefits, risks, and side effects of various treatment options, ensuring they are actively involved in their care decisions. This collaborative approach helps restore patients’ quality of life, tailored to their individual values, goals, and life circumstances. My dedication to patient engagement and responsiveness has been recognized with teaching awards for my work with residents and medical students.
My journey into psychiatry was inspired by a fascination with human behavior and the diverse factors that shape our identities. I pursued my medical education followed by specialized training in psychiatry. As a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the Association for Academic Psychiatry, and the American Medical Association, I stay at the forefront of advancements in mental healthcare. At NYU Langone, I collaborate with a dedicated team to provide comprehensive and coordinated care, ensuring the best outcomes for my patients.
