About Me
As a neuropsychiatrist at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to my patients. My approach is rooted in the belief that understanding the intricate connection between the brain and mind can significantly enhance the quality of life for individuals facing neuropsychiatric challenges. I am passionate about forming meaningful connections with my patients and their families, and I am driven by the profound impact that our interventions can have on their lives.
I specialize in managing mood and behavioral disturbances associated with epilepsy, movement disorders, traumatic or acquired brain injury, autism spectrum disorder, and dementia. Additionally, I have a keen interest in functional neurological disorder (FND), including non-epileptic seizures (NES), and attention deficit disorder (ADHD). I am double-boarded in neurology and psychiatry, which allows me to offer cutting-edge treatments and a holistic approach to patient care.
Throughout my career, I have focused on proactive healthcare engagement and patient-centered care. I work closely with my patients to understand their histories and goals, creating tailored treatment plans that address their unique needs. My role as an attending on the inpatient epilepsy service at Bellevue and my expertise in reading electroencephalogram (EEGs) further enhance my ability to provide specialized care.
My journey into medicine was inspired by my childhood experiences with my aunt, who was a medical student in India. The fascination with her medical textbooks and the meaningful conversations I overheard sparked my interest in the field. During my clinical rotations in medical school, I was drawn to neurology and psychiatry due to the significant impact we can make on patients’ lives. As the program director for the NYU Grossman School of Medicine psychiatry residency, I am committed to shaping the future of psychiatric care by overseeing the training and development of residents, ensuring they are well-prepared to provide exceptional patient care.
