As a child psychiatrist at Hassenfeld Childrenโ€™s Hospital at NYU Langone and director of the child and adolescent psychiatry inpatient service at Bellevue Hospital, I am dedicated to providing dynamic and empathetic care to my patients. My approach is rooted in the belief that mental healthcare should be as precise and individualized as possible.

I specialize in treating patients with a broad spectrum of challenges, including mood disorders, anxiety, psychosis, intellectual disability, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). My approach is symptom-focused and incorporates practices that are tailored to each individual. Whether through psychotherapy or carefully prescribed medications, I am committed to your emotional wellbeing.

My professional background includes extensive experience in inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and community treatment settings, catering to individuals across all age groups. Beyond clinical practice, I am dedicated to teaching the next generation of psychiatrists as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. I have also actively engaged with national medical organizations and contributed to initiatives supporting both physicians and patients. My work has been widely published in case reports, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses.

I completed my medical school training at Ziauddin Medical University in Karachi, Pakistan, followed by a general adult psychiatry residency at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at NYU Langone. During my training, I held multiple leadership positions, most notably serving as the inpatient chief during my fellowship. My journey in psychiatry is driven by a passion for helping others and a commitment to advancing mental healthcare.
