About Me
As a geriatrician at NYU Langone, I am deeply committed to making a lasting impact on my patients' lives. Geriatrics allows me to connect with my patients on a deeper level. My close relationship with my grandparents, especially witnessing my grandfather's experience with Parkinson’s disease and dementia, made me acutely aware of the support and advocacy older adults need in their healthcare journey.
I specialize in geriatric primary care, skilled nursing facility care, and complex care management. My areas of expertise include cognitive impairment, deprescribing, rehabilitative medicine, falls prevention, and transitional care. With years of experience, I focus on understanding my patients as individuals and tailoring management strategies to fit their unique lives, preferences, and goals. I believe in prioritizing non-pharmacological interventions whenever possible and work closely with my patients to ensure their treatment plans align with their values.
Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to improving the healthcare system for older adults on both national and international scales. One of my most rewarding experiences was completing a six-month leadership fellowship at Moorings Park Communities in Naples, Florida, where I served as assistant medical director. This role allowed me to contribute to system-wide changes and quality improvement projects within skilled nursing facilities, deepening my commitment to advocating for older adults and addressing the systemic challenges they face in healthcare.
My journey into medicine was inspired by my personal experiences and the desire to advocate for older adults. I encourage my patients to recognize the vast experience and wisdom they bring to the table. At the core of my practice is a dedication to patient advocacy, ensuring that older adults feel heard and understood. Together, we create care plans that are as unique as the individuals they serve, focusing on their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellbeing.
