About Me
As an infectious disease specialist at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to enhancing public health and the wellbeing of my patients through comprehensive clinical care. My approach combines data-driven methods with personalized patient interactions, ensuring that patients feel heard and empowered to make informed decisions about their health.
With more than a decade of experience in the field, I specialize in treating patients with a wide range of infectious diseases, including pneumonia, meningitis, HIV, and tuberculosis. I have a particular focus on drug-resistant bacterial and fungal infections in patients who are hospitalized. My expertise is further enhanced by my role as medical director of the Bureau of Communicable Disease at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. This position allows me to integrate clinical expertise with public health principles, especially in the management of emerging infections and outbreaks.
Throughout my career, I have been actively involved in public health research and program improvement initiatives. My work has focused on public health emergencies, novel therapeutic access, outbreak response, and preventing drug-resistant infections. These efforts have not only improved patient care but also contributed to the training and mentorship of the next generation of infectious disease and public health physicians.
My journey into medicine was inspired by a commitment to addressing health inequities and the significant role infections play in these inequities. I completed the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Epidemic Intelligence Service training program, specializing in applied epidemiology and outbreak management. I am honored to be a fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, reflecting my dedication to high-quality patient care and advancing the field of infectious diseases.
