About Me
As an addiction psychiatrist at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to my patients. My approach emphasizes the importance of active listening and collaboration, ensuring that each patient feels heard and understood. I believe in the power of holistic treatment, integrating breathing techniques, meditation, gratitude practices, nutrition, and exercise alongside psychotherapy and medication to positively influence the nervous system.
I specialize in treating patients with a wide range of psychiatric disorders, including depression, anxiety, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). My subspecialty in addiction psychiatry allows me to focus on alcohol, opioid, and cannabis use disorders. I am particularly interested in the spiritual aspects of healing, which play a significant role in my approach to addiction treatment.
With extensive experience in both clinical practice and research, I bring a unique perspective to my work. I have been involved in studies exploring the concept of spirituality in addiction recovery, as well as medication trials for addiction and adult ADHD. This research has not only deepened my understanding of these conditions but also kept me at the forefront of new treatment options.
My journey into medicine was driven by a desire to help people and a fascination with the science of the brain. Psychiatry allows me to make a meaningful impact on my patients' lives. My involvement with the American Psychiatric Association, where I am a distinguished life fellow, reflects my commitment to ensuring access to mental health care for all patients. At NYU Langone, I am proud to be part of a team that prioritizes coordinated care, enhancing the overall patient experience.
