My interest in both human physiology and performing surgery led me to the great specialty of urology. While in medical school I was fascinated by several important developments in the field of urology. In particular, the PSA blood test, the noninvasive treatment of kidney stones (ESWL) and a new medication that showed promise in treating erectile dysfunction (sildenafil). All were major advances that I felt would truly enhance urologic care. Ultimately they revolutionized the specialty of urology and what I have been able to offer my patients over my 30+ years in clinical practice.
I enjoy working with patients and gaining a keen understanding of their urologic problems and then helping them decide on the most appropriate treatments. I have developed a holistic approach to my patient care and always include the concerns of my patients in deciding upon a treatment. I enjoy the wide range of options that are available for my patients. This may include lifestyle and self help strategies, homeopathy, medical therapies and surgical treatments. I treat a wide range of urologic conditions in all patients. I focus mainly on office based therapies.
I pride myself on my ability as a communicator and enjoy the long term relationships I develop with my patients. I like to share with my patients my adage “good care takes time.”
I have been recognized by my peers as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2015 and have been featured in New York Magazine and Newsday. I am a diplomate of the American Board of Urology, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Urologic Association.
