About Me
Ever since I was in elementary school, I have been passionate about science. I also wanted to help others, so I decided to become a doctor. During medical school, I discovered the importance of radiology. Imaging can help doctors diagnose disease and detect early cancer. I became interested in breast cancer screening because it saves lives.
As a radiologist specializing in breast imaging, I interpret mammograms and use various imaging methods—including tomosynthesis, ultrasound, and MRI—to evaluate breast masses, nipple discharge, and swelling. I diagnose breast cancer as well as benign breast conditions, such as cysts and fibroadenomas. I also diagnose high-risk lesions, such as atypical ductal hyperplasia and atypical lobular hyperplasia.
I perform breast-imaging procedures, including biopsies of suspicious areas in the breast. These include ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration and core needle biopsy. I also perform stereotactic biopsy, which is guided by mammography, and MRI-guided biopsy. In addition, I perform needle localizations, using imaging to identify abnormal breast tissue, which surgeons remove. My goal is to make these procedures as pain- and stress-free as possible.
I work with mammography and ultrasound technicians, as well as nurse navigators, to provide comprehensive care to our patients. Our center, NYU Langone Radiology—NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island, has been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology. We offer breast tomosynthesis, also known as three-dimensional mammography, which helps to identify hidden breast lesions—especially in women with dense breasts.
I pride myself on providing compassionate, high-quality care. I enjoy getting to know my patients and seeing them for their annual mammograms. Some patients are nervous when they come in for imaging tests. I always explain the findings and provide reassurance.
In addition to caring for patients, I teach residents. I also contribute to educational exhibits at national meetings.
