Susi U. Vassallo, MD

As an emergency medicine physician and medical toxicologist at NYU Langone, I provide compassionate care that prioritizes the wellbeing of my patients. My passion for medicine is driven by the joy I find in caring for individuals and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in their lives.

I am a certified correctional health professional and have gained national recognition for my expertise in thermoregulation and the health conditions of confinement in jails and prisons. I am particularly proud of my contributions to these areas, which are critical for improving patient outcomes in these challenging environments.

Over the past 30 years, I have also been privileged to serve as a faculty member at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, where I teach and mentor the next generation of physicians. My work in the field has been diverse, encompassing clinical practice, research, and education and continues to be immensely gratifying.
