As an emergency physician and intensivist at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to providing immediate, life-saving care to patients in critical situations. The dynamic nature of emergency medicine and critical care allows me to combine my passion for science, problem-solving, and making a direct impact on patients’ lives. Every day presents new challenges and opportunities to make quick decisions and provide immediate resuscitation and stabilization to patients, which is incredibly rewarding.

My practice in emergency medicine covers patients of all ages, while my work as an intensivist focuses on adults in the medical or surgical intensive care units. I perform any procedures needed for the immediate resuscitation and stabilization of severely ill patients in the emergency room, as well as for their continued care in the intensive care unit. With almost two decades of experience in emergency medicine, and additional training in critical care, I bring a comprehensive skill set to both the emergency department and the ICU. My approach emphasizes compassionate care, ensuring that patients feel supported and informed throughout their experience. It has been said of emergency physicians that our motto is “any patient, any problem, any time,” and I feel this nicely reflects my dedication to being available and responsive to patients’ needs.  Being part of NYU Langone enables me to collaborate with a team of dedicated experts and professionals, ensuring coordinated and seamless care for my patients in a rewarding, supportive environment.

I am also a veteran who served as a physician at Camp Lejeune Naval Hospital as well as with a Shock Trauma Platoon with Combat Logistics Battalion 22 while deployed with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit.  While deployed, I provided medical training and emergency care to over 3,500 Marines and Sailors aboard the USS Mesa Verde, USS Whidbey Island, and USS Bataan in support of Operation Unified Protector (Libya) and various other military exercises throughout the Mediterranean and Persian Gulf.  I began my medical career as an Emergency Medical Technician in the 1990s and have maintained my involvement with several fire/rescue communities over the last 30 years.  I have earned sub-specialty certification in EMS through the American Board of Emergency Medicine, and I currently serve as the medical director for both Ronkonkoma Fire District and Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
