I chose gastroenterology because it resides at a fascinating intersection of digestion, nutrition, metabolism, lifestyle, and overall health—all aspects that touch everyone’s daily life. This specialty offers an opportunity to engage in diagnostic detective work, connecting symptoms, imaging, lab results, and endoscopic findings to build a clear picture of a patient’s condition. What drew me most to gastroenterology is the balance between diagnosing and treating; often, I can identify a problem and address it during the same procedure. Beyond that, the emphasis on prevention in this field is vital—screening for colon and gastric cancers, preventing the progression of precancerous polyps, and managing chronic GI diseases before complications arise are key aspects of my practice.

What motivates me every day is the knowledge that even small improvements in a person’s health can make a meaningful difference in their daily life. I take the time to understand not only my patients’ symptoms but also how those symptoms are impacting their overall well-being, daily routine, and goals. This helps me build trust and stronger partnerships with my patients as we navigate their care together.

I manage a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including GERD, Barrett’s esophagus, peptic ulcer disease, celiac disease, H. pylori infections, irritable bowel syndrome, small bowel diseases, diverticular disease, and colitis. My approach to care has a strong foundation in evidence-based medicine, complemented by innovative tools like artificial intelligence for polyp and precancerous change detection. I stay actively involved in the advancements of my field, keeping an open mind and a sense of curiosity to evolve my practice with the most up-to-date research and technology.

Good medicine, in my view, is a partnership. I prioritize clear, straightforward communication because I believe patients make the best decisions about their health when they fully understand their options. Since medicine is rarely one-size-fits-all, I seek to balance evidence-based recommendations with individualized care plans that align with each patient’s needs and goals. My focus is on empowering patients to take control of their health, through shared decision-making and compassionate, accessible care.

As part of my professional journey, I have been recognized at national conferences, including the American College of Gastroenterology and Digestive Diseases Week, where I’ve received honors like the Presidential Award. I stay actively engaged with professional organizations such as the ACG and NYSGE, which reflect my commitment to staying at the forefront of quality, patient-centered care.
