Research Summary

Garrett Desman, MD, has joined the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology at NYU Langone Health. Dr. Desman brings 20+ years of diagnostic expertise to our dynamic Dermatopathology Section.

 

Dr. Desman joins our team of esteemed Dermatopathologists to deliver clinician-focused diagnostic services with an emphasis on clinical-pathologic correlation. He is the author of the textbook, Barnhill’s Dermatopathology Challenge, and is associate-editor of Barnhill’s Dermatopathology, 4th Edition, both gold-standard educational resources in the field of Dermatopathology (McGraw Hill-Education).

 

After graduating from medical school at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Dr. Desman completed his Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency training at The Mount Sinai Hospital, an Oncological Surgical Pathology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and a Dermatopathology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center/Weill Cornell Medical College. He has previously served as full-time faculty in the dermatopathology services at Weill Cornell Medical College and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He now joins us from his most recent position as Chief of Dermatopathology at Optum.
