About Me
As a pediatric emergency physician at NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island, my approach to care is holistic, focusing not only on the immediate illness or injury but also offering medical expertise and support to families. I am deeply committed to providing empathetic and inclusive care for children during their most critical and stressful moments.
My specialty lies in managing a variety of urgent and emergent conditions. These include common issues such as fevers and respiratory emergencies, as well as more complex conditions like sepsis and febrile seizures. I also handle traumatic injuries, including lacerations and broken bones. I also provide care for neonatal illnesses, electrolyte imbalances, neurological emergencies, sickle cell crises, and diabetic ketoacidosis, which is a serious complication of diabetes.
In my role, I also perform various procedures to stabilize and treat patients as needed. These include airway insertion, complex intravenous and urinary catheter insertions, laceration repairs, and splint placement for fractures. I also offer deep sedation to aid in other complicated procedures such as realigning broken bones.
Throughout my career, I have provided culturally sensitive and unbiased care that respects and acknowledges the unique circumstances of each family. I tailor my care to meet these individual needs. At NYU Langone, I enjoy being part of a diverse team, in which each member’s unique experiences contribute to comprehensive decision-making and innovative solutions for the best possible patient care.
My journey into medicine was inspired by my grandfather, a family doctor, who cared for generations of families with dedication and selflessness. His impact on people’s lives left a lasting impression on me and motivated me to pursue a career in which I could make a similar difference. I was drawn to care for those who are most vulnerable, often unable to advocate for themselves.
I enjoy the unpredictability of emergency medicine, finding calm amidst the chaos. The quick decisions and decisive actions often required in my field bring a sense of fulfillment to my work. I thrive on the challenges of pediatric emergency medicine. I am inspired by the resilience of children I treat; their ability to recover does not cease to amaze me.
