Madonna DiBella, MD

Providing exceptional care to the most vulnerable populations is at the heart of my practice as an emergency medicine physician at NYU Langone. My passion for this field was ignited by witnessing the stark disparities in healthcare access in my hometown of Buffalo, New York. I am dedicated to ensuring that patients, regardless of their background or circumstances, receive the highest standard of care and the advocacy they deserve.

I specialize in managing patients with a wide range of acute conditions, including heart attacks, strokes, trauma, psychiatric emergencies, and severe infections. With extensive training and years of experience, I am adept at addressing the complex needs of patients in critical situations. My commitment to proactive healthcare engagement means I am always striving to provide not only immediate medical attention but also long-term support and reassurance.

Throughout my career, I have focused on understanding and addressing social determinants of health. My volunteer work with geriatric patients during college and my involvement with the Brooklyn Free Clinic during medical school have provided me with invaluable insights into the challenges faced by populations that are underserved. These experiences have shaped my approach to patient care, emphasizing compassion, responsiveness, and strong partnerships with my patients.

My educational journey began at Case Western Reserve University, where I developed a deep interest in social determinants of health. This passion continued to grow during my time at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, where I worked closely with low-income communities. These formative experiences inspired me to pursue a career in emergency medicine, where I could make a tangible difference in the lives of those facing significant healthcare barriers.
